A welder called me one morning from his driveway up near San Marcos Pass in Santa Barbara. He had a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan with one working FOBIK and wanted a spare before the original died on him somewhere inconvenient.
He'd called the Dodge dealer first. They told him to bring it in, quoted him a number that made him pause, and said the soonest opening was over two weeks out. He works with his hands ten hours a day. Taking a morning off to sit in a waiting room was not happening.
I met him at his place before his shift started. His Grand Caravan uses the Y157 keyway, which is the standard Chrysler blade profile across the FOBIK-era Dodge and Chrysler lineup. I decoded his door lock with my Y157 Lishi right at the driver door, read the wafer positions, and cut an exact blade match on site.
The FOBIK programming went through the OBD-II port. His van runs the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module, SKIM for short, which talks to the Wireless Control Module, known as the WCM or RF hub, mounted behind the ignition area. The IYZ-C01C paired up clean, all seven buttons tested good, and I verified both the old and new FOBIKs started the engine and operated the power sliding doors and liftgate.
About 25 minutes, start to finish. He was pulling out of the driveway headed to work before he would have even been checked in at the dealer.
