The mechanical key on the 2003 Viper is an uncut Y159 blank with no transponder chip, so the blade side is a standard cut on my machine. For the remote, I paired a new GQ43VT17T to the vehicle's receiver module using the onboard programming sequence built into the body controller.
He pressed every button twice, walking around the car like he was testing a house alarm. Lock from ten feet. Unlock. Trunk release. Even hit panic and then fumbled to shut it off.
He drove home with two working sets. That second remote means if one walks off or the CR2032 dies at the wrong moment, he is not stuck with a Viper he can only open by hand.
