2017 Dodge Viper Emergency Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy out near Camino Real Marketplace in Goleta. Bass fisherman. He had been out on the water since early morning and somewhere between the dock and the dirt lot, his only key to a 2017 Dodge Viper vanished. Checked the tackle box, the boat, every pocket twice. Gone.
He was already looking up tow trucks when he found my number. Figured the car was stuck until the dealer could see him the following week. I told him I could be out that afternoon.
When I got there, I used my Y159 Lishi to pick the door lock and decode every wafer position for exact bitting. Then I connected through OBD and ran the all-keys-lost procedure on the WIN module, which wipes any previous key registrations and opens the system for a new primary. Cut the emergency key on site, programmed it, tested ignition and door locks.
Then I cut him a spare. Told him to keep it somewhere that is not his tackle box.
The whole thing, lock decode to engine running, took about 45 minutes in a dirt parking lot. He had been quoted a tow plus a weekday-only appointment at the dealer, and the total would have been a good chunk more than what I charged. His Viper drove home that same afternoon.
