Got a call from a guy near the Fillmore Historical Museum area. He had a 2005 Viper SRT-10, and the remote had just stopped doing anything. No lock, no unlock, no trunk, no panic. He was pressing buttons like he owed them money.

Reprogramming a fixed-code remote on these is done through a manual sequence at the vehicle, not through OBD. You cycle the ignition, use the lock switch on the door, and get the receiver into learn mode. Took about five minutes.
Tested all four buttons from 30 feet out. Lock, unlock, trunk release, panic. Everything answered.
He stood there holding the fob like it might quit again. I told him to keep a spare CR2032 in the glovebox. The Viper's remote system does not warn you when the battery is getting low. It just stops.
