Over near the High Street Arts Center in Moorpark, a nursing student called me from her apartment breezeway. She had already called the Nissan dealer. They told her to tow the truck in, quoted her a number that made her pause, and said it would be a couple of days before they could get to it.

Once I had the cut on a fresh DA34 blank with a new ID46 chip seated in the head, I connected to the NATS system through the OBD port using a Nissan-compatible diagnostic tool, registered the transponder, and cleared the immobilizer fault.
She turned the key and the security light blinked once and went out. Truck fired right up. The whole thing took about 35 minutes, done at her apartment, no tow, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
