Got a call on a Wednesday in Oxnard, over near Seabridge Marketplace. A woman at a small accounting firm said her 2018 Frontier would not start. Middle of tax season, clients stacked through the evening, truck sitting in the firm's lot doing nothing.

Then I grabbed my diagnostic tool, plugged into the OBD-II port under the dash, and talked to the NATS5 module. Her existing key's 46 chip was registering intermittently, which is something I see on these D40 Frontiers when the transponder chip starts to go weak after years of sitting on a keychain getting banged around.
Cut a fresh NSN14 blank, cloned a new Philips 46 chip, registered it through the BCM. Tested it three times cold. Cranked and ran every time, security light stayed off.
She walked out after her one o'clock client and the truck started like it was new. No tow, no dealer appointment booked days out, no sitting in a Nissan service lounge watching the clock. Car never left the parking spot.
