2009 Nissan Frontier Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a woman near the Moorpark College Area on a Wednesday afternoon. She had a 2009 Frontier, one key, and that key had gone through a full wash cycle in a jacket pocket.
The fob body was intact but it was completely dead on the remote side. She could still turn the ignition, but she had a kid to pick up and no backup key, and she was not about to go a day without a working fob.
She called the dealer first. They told her Friday at the earliest, possible parts order, bring the car in.
I was at her location inside an hour. Pulled up next to her truck in the lot, popped open my kit, and connected to the OBD port to run the key programming sequence. The 2009 Frontier remote-head key setup requires going through the immobilizer enrollment with diagnostic equipment. No ignition-turn shortcut on this one. I registered the new key, cycled through the process, and had her test locks, remote range, and the ignition.
Start to finish at the vehicle, about 25 minutes.
She had a working key and made it to pickup on time. The dealer route would have cost her the better part of two days and a lot more money. She paid a fraction of what they quoted, same day, in the lot.
