The 2004 Forester runs a fixed-code system on the remote side, FCC ID NHVWB1U711, four buttons, CR2025 battery. No rolling code to deal with on this generation. I built the remote from a blank shell and paired it on site.
His car started in that dirt lot with dust still settling on the hood. He just stood there holding the new key like he was waiting for something to go wrong.
