I was already working a call near Five Points on a Saturday when another one came in. Couple at a sushi spot on the same side of Oxnard, 2019 Forester, wouldn't start. They thought the car had a real problem. Neither of them knew about the backup procedure for when the fob battery dies completely.

The whole thing took maybe twelve minutes. They drove home that night instead of leaving the car in the lot until Monday and dealing with a dealer appointment. That is usually the part people don't think about until they're standing in a dark parking lot. The dealer fix is fine, but it doesn't happen at 9pm on a Saturday in Oxnard.
