2016 Toyota Avalon Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A medical office building in RiverPark is not the kind of place where someone can just disappear for two hours. The parking garage is right there, the car is sitting in it all day, but the person who needs the key handled is booked back to back until the evening.
That was exactly the situation. A doctor had a cracked smart key fob. The casing had split, the blade was rattling loose inside the housing, and she was between patients when she called. The dealer told her to bring the car in. She said she couldn't leave. They said they couldn't help her from there.
I pulled into the garage on her lunch break. She had maybe twenty minutes to spare. The job was straightforward on my end: decode the blade at the car, cut a fresh key, and program the new fob through the OBD port using the diagnostic equipment I carry. The fob is the factory FCC ID unit, the battery is a CR1632, and all four buttons got tested before I handed anything over.
She walked back inside before her next patient. The car didn't move. No tow truck, no waiting room, no half-day gone. The dealer comparison came up only because she mentioned it on her way back to the elevator.
