Over on the Eastside, a parent was wrapping up a school conference when she realized her Tundra's remote had gone completely quiet. Locks wouldn't respond, no matter how many times she clicked it. She needed to be across town for a pickup at 3pm and the dealer couldn't see her until the end of the week.

First thing I did when I got there was swap the CR2032. Fresh battery, clean contacts, reseated the cover. Nothing. The fob itself was the problem, not the battery.
The 2005 Tundra runs a separate remote and ignition key setup, so the truck was still starting fine for her. What she lost was the convenience of remote door lock and unlock. I had a compatible replacement remote with the factory FCC ID on hand, programmed it on site using my key tool connected to the OBD port, and walked through every button to confirm it was talking to the truck correctly.

The dealer had quoted her a number she wasn't happy about and wanted her to leave the truck for a few days. The total disruption here was one phone call and about 40 minutes in a school parking lot. That was the whole thing.
