I was parked off Vineyard Avenue near the RiverPark area on a Tuesday when I got the call.
Guy had a 2003 Crown Victoria, drove it to his office that morning, tried to swap the battery himself in the parking lot during his lunch break because he'd been getting slow cranks. Car started after the swap, he thought he was fine. Then he locked it, walked back inside, and when he came back out at the end of the day it wouldn't start. I programmed his existing key back into the system along with a second one he'd had sitting in a drawer for two years and never used. Both keys, one session. Car fired up clean.
He asked what the dealer would have done. Probably the same thing, I told him, but you'd have towed it there, waited a day or two for an opening, and paid a lot more to sit in their waiting room. He'd gotten his car back in the same lot where it broke down, and he still made it home before dinner.
