Got a call from a guy near Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura on a Monday. His 2011 Crown Vic needed a key and he had already called the dealer. They told him Thursday at the earliest, and that was just the appointment. If they didn't have the H75 blank in stock, add more days on top. He had a toddler in the back seat and no second vehicle. Three days carless with a kid in diapers was not going to work.
I pulled into the lot that same afternoon. His Crown Vic was sitting there like it had nowhere to be, which was the whole problem.
Pulled out the Autel IM608 Pro, connected through the OBD-II port, ran PATS key learning. The 2011 Crown Vic uses the 80-bit 4D-63 chip, so the programming sequence has a timed security access period built in. Cut the H75 on the HPC Blitz, dropped the transponder chip into the head, and let the tool finish the handshake with the PCM.
Tested the ignition. Cranked clean, no theft light flashing, no PATS codes. Then I cycled it twice more because the 80-bit system can be picky if the chip alignment is marginal.
He buckled his kid in and left. Monday call, Monday fix. The dealer route would have eaten half his week and cost him a good chunk more.
