1999 Honda Civic Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A family came out of a taqueria near Carriage Square on a Friday night and the fob was completely dead. Not weak range, not slow to respond. Nothing. They were pushing the buttons in the parking lot the way people do when they are hoping the next press is the one that works.
The dad had been carrying the fob loose in a pocket with keys and coins for years. The case had a hairline crack along one edge. The CR2025 inside was reading low voltage and the positive contact clip had a slight bow to it, so even when the cell had juice, the connection was intermittent.
I was about fifteen minutes away and already had the right fob parts and a fresh CR2025 in the van. I pulled up, popped the case on the hood of my service van, straightened the contact, swapped the battery, and pressed the shell back together. First button press from about thirty feet lit the Civic's parking lights. The whole family kind of stopped talking at the same time.
The car was going home that night, not sitting in a taqueria parking lot until Monday morning. The dealer option would have meant a weekday appointment, waiting in a lobby, and paying a good chunk more for the same result. On a Friday at nine in the evening, that comparison is not even close.
