1995 Toyota 4runner
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

1995 Toyota 4runner Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

It was early on a Tuesday when a guy called from up in the Hillsides neighborhood in Ventura. He had an old 1995 4Runner sitting in his driveway and zero keys to it. He had bought it used a few weeks before, drove it home with the one key the seller handed him, and then that key vanished somewhere between the front door and wherever keys go to disappear.

He figured it was a dealer job. He had already called Toyota and was told to have it towed in, bring proof of ownership, and plan to wait a day or two. He called me mostly out of curiosity.

I was at his driveway in under 30 minutes. The 4Runner had been sitting unlocked, which was lucky, so I went straight to the ignition cylinder and decoded the cut. A few minutes on the key machine and he had a working key in his hand. Then I cut a second one on the spot and told him to put it somewhere he would actually find it.

The whole thing took about 25 minutes. The dealer conversation alone had taken longer than that.

He just kept looking at the key like he expected more steps. There were no more steps. That was the job.
