Out in the Samarkand neighborhood in Santa Barbara, I got a call from a guy who had already paid another locksmith for a 2005 4Runner key that never worked right. The engine would crank, fire up, and then die in about two seconds, every single time. The first locksmith told him the immobilizer module was bad and walked away.
