2010 Toyota Prius Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A doctor at a medical office building in Camarillo, over near Studio Channel Islands, called me mid-afternoon. She was between patients. Her 2010 Prius smart key had cracked along the seam and the emergency insert blade was loose and barely holding. She could still start the car, but she knew it was one pocket snag away from losing the blade entirely.

The 2010 Prius runs Toyota's Texas Instruments TMS37126 transponder system, and the smart key communicates on 312 MHz through the Smart Key ECU, which on these is board 89990-47060. The fob itself, part number 89904-0E031, was physically done. Housing split, battery contact bent from the flex.
I used my TOY43 Lishi to decode the lock cylinder right at the driver door, verified the blade cut depths, and cut a fresh emergency key on my mobile machine. Then I paired a new HYQ14ACX fob through the OBD-II port. The immobilizer registration on the third-gen Prius (XW30) has a timed seed-key handshake, so the whole process ran about 30 minutes including the cut.
She walked to her car after her last patient with two working smart keys. Her car never left the spot. Zero time out of her workday, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted plus the tow they would have needed out of a parking garage.
