The IM608 reads the immobilizer seed data off the 93C56 EEPROM on the immo box, calculates the encrypted password, and registers a new 4D-67 transponder to the system. The 2012 Tacoma runs Toyota's older immobilizer protocol, so the whole process is OBD-based with no pin code needed from the dealer.
Cut the TOY43 blade on my mobile machine, programmed the transponder, then paired the GQ43VT20T remote. Lock, unlock, panic, all three buttons responding clean. Engine start on the first turn.
She stood there holding both keys like she finally had a backup plan. The whole thing took maybe 25 minutes, done before her break ended, for a fraction of what the dealer quoted her.
