Saturday night in Montecito, over near Hot Springs Trail. A couple came out of a bowling alley and their 2006 Chevrolet Malibu wouldn't turn over. Engine cranked fine but wouldn't catch. The SECURITY light on the dash was solid.

I ran the security relearn through my diagnostic tool on the OBD-II port, which bypasses the ten-minute manual cycle GM wants you to do three times in a row. Cleared the B2960, tested the ignition a few times cold, and the car started right up on every turn.
The wife said she'd been bracing for leaving the car in the lot overnight and calling the dealer Monday morning. Dealers around here quote a week-plus wait for Passlock diagnosis and the bill gets steep once they start talking about replacing the lock cylinder assembly.
They drove home that same night.
