I got a call out to Thille/Montalvo on a Tuesday morning. Guy had one key left for his 2003 F-150, and it had snapped almost at the bow. The blade was still long enough to turn the ignition but the head was cracked through, and he was worried it would finish breaking inside the cylinder before he got a replacement made.

Nothing was wrong, that is just how the system works on these trucks. You wait it out and then complete the sequence.

Three clean starts after that. Key in, start, shut off, repeat. That repetition is the part that catches an intermittent issue before it becomes a roadside problem.
