A recently divorced dad was at the taco shop near Ebell Park in Santa Paula. He had just picked up a used 2002 Grand Cherokee from a small lot. Good truck, fair price, one key. I matched the blank, cut the blade on my Condor, and used my VVDI2 to clone the HITAG data from his existing key onto a fresh chip so the SKIM module accepted it without needing a full pin-code reprogram.
He turned the key. No red SKIM light on the dash. Engine caught right away. Lock, unlock, start. Identical to his original.
He sat there for a second like he was waiting for it to act up. It did not.
That second key also means if one ever disappears, the next replacement is a quick add-a-key instead of an all-keys-lost procedure, which saves him a good chunk down the line.
