If a fresh battery does not bring it back, the fob itself may have a failed transmitter. That is repairable by replacement, not something you can fix internally. The receiver on the vehicle side is rarely the problem when the issue is isolated to the remote functions only, but if a replacement fob still does not respond after programming, that points back to the vehicle's receiver and is worth checking separately.
