2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A plumber over in Mar Vista called me on a weekday morning, right before his first job of the day. He had a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and his one key was getting flaky. Not dead yet, just unreliable, clicking twice before the doors responded, remote range shrinking. Smart call coming in before it became a crisis.

He'd already priced it at the dealer. They quoted him something that made him pause and told him to bring the vehicle in. He runs a one-man service operation. Sitting in a dealer waiting room for two hours wasn't in the schedule.

I met him at his carport before he loaded his first call. He stood there drinking coffee while I decoded the door lock right at the vehicle, cut a replacement key to match, and programmed the new remote head key through the OBD port. The whole thing took under thirty minutes.

He tested every button himself before I packed up. Doors, lock, unlock, all six buttons working. Then he drove off to his first job of the day, on time.

The dealer quote barely came up. He already knew what he'd saved. That's usually how it goes.
