2004 Lincoln Navigator Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A graphic designer in Hope Ranch called on a Tuesday morning. He was parked on one of those narrow hillside streets off the ranch roads where there is barely enough room for one car, let alone a flatbed. He had zero working keys. The Lincoln dealer told him he needed to get the vehicle to them first. He explained the road situation. They were not particularly moved by that.
I parked at the bottom of the incline and walked up with my bag. No van required for that last stretch.
I decoded the door lock cylinder to get the key cut data, then cut a blade on-site to match. The remote head key housing went together right there on the hood of his Navigator, and I ran the programming sequence through the OBD port to enroll the new key into the immobilizer and pair the remote functions. Three-button fob, CR2032 seated correctly, lock and unlock tested at range, engine started clean.
His Navigator sat in the same spot the whole time. Never moved an inch.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait of several weeks for an appointment and suggested he would need the car on their lot. I did not make a big deal of the comparison. The key worked, the car stayed on the hill, and he got back to his day. That is the whole story.
