2009 Subaru Outback Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A case worker on the Eastside of Santa Barbara called me about a spare key for her 2009 Subaru Outback. Before she dialed, she pulled my license number off my website and checked it against the BSIS database. She told me that up front, matter of fact. She'd hired an unlicensed locksmith before. No company name on the receipt, the number disconnected a week later. She wasn't doing that again.
We met in the parking lot where she works. She wanted to watch the whole job, which I prefer. Nothing about this work needs to be hidden.
The factory fob on her key was still in decent shape, so I used it as the reference. Cut the new blade on site, programmed the replacement through the OBD port using my equipment, and verified it through the full sequence: remote lock and unlock at range, then confirmed the engine started and held. Both keys working before I closed my bag.
She mentioned the dealer had quoted her a number that made her pause long enough to start looking for other options. She found a fraction of that here, done in her parking lot, without taking a half day off to sit in a waiting room.
That's the job. No drama. Just a working spare and someone who felt like she made the right call.
