Got a call from a woman over in the Harding Park area of Santa Paula. She was sitting outside with her Land Cruiser running in the parking area because she was afraid to shut it off. Her only key had a cracked shell and the remote buttons had stopped responding a week ago. Her working key still started the car, so this was an add-a-key job. I used my VVDI2 to read the 4C chip data from her original and clone it onto the fresh transponder. The immobilizer accepted it on the first turn. Then I programmed the remote side, tested lock, unlock, and panic from ten feet, twenty feet, and behind the vehicle.
Seventeen minutes, parking to handoff.
She looked at the old key sitting on my tray, blade wobbling, plastic split down the side, and just said, "I can't believe I drove around like that for a month."
