A guy near Libbey Park in Ojai flagged me down at the library lot. He had a 2014 Land Cruiser that cranked for about two seconds, then the immobilizer cut fuel and the engine died. Every single time. I pulled out my Lishi TOY43 and verified the blade cut matched the door. Then I connected through the OBD port with my IM608, cleared the botched registration, and ran a clean immobilizer reset with the full security sequence from scratch. The timed countdown did its thing. I waited. Then the IM608 screen showed the HYQ14AAB permanently stored to that VIN.
He turned the key. Engine caught and held. No two-second stall, no fuel cut.
I showed him that confirmation screen because that's the difference between a job attempted and a job done. He'd already paid someone once for nothing. I got it right for a fraction of what the dealer quoted him on the phone.
