2011 Ford Ranger Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A guy near Lemon Grove Plaza in Oxnard texted me a GPS pin from a trailhead. His 2011 Ranger was sitting in a dirt lot and his key had fallen out of his pocket somewhere on the trail. No spare. No dealer anywhere close. And no flatbed was getting in there easily.

I drove out with everything already in the van. His Ranger uses the OUCD6000022 remote head key with a 4D63-80bit transponder chip and an H75 keyway blade. I decoded the door lock, cut a fresh blade on my Condor machine right at the trailhead, then paired the transponder through the OBD port using the PATS module on his PCM.

The 80-bit PATS system on these Rangers has a built-in security timer. Once you initiate programming, there is a mandatory timed delay per key before the module accepts it. You sit and wait. The dirt lot was quiet enough to hear his engine turn over the first time.

He had been looking up tow costs on his phone before he found me. Getting a flatbed out to that spot, then sitting at a Ford dealer in Oxnard for days waiting on a blank to ship, all of that versus the job happening in that same dirt lot, same morning.

He just kind of stared at the key like he didn't trust it yet. Then he drove off.
