The pharmacy parking lot off Royal/Kadota is one of those spots where people are already a little stressed before you even pull up. This customer was waiting outside when I arrived, keys in hand, except one of them wasn't working anymore.
She'd already done the battery swap herself. She found the CR2450 spec online, got the right one, seated it correctly, and the fob still wasn't behaving consistently. Touch unlock on the driver door was hit or miss. The other buttons worked fine. She'd convinced herself the fob was failing and wanted a spare cut and programmed before it got worse.

I ran a quick diagnostic on the fob she had, confirmed the key was enrolled and communicating, and the inconsistent touch unlock was isolated to the driver door sensor, not the fob itself. The fob was fine. What she actually needed was the spare she came for, not a diagnosis she already suspected.
Programmed the new fob, confirmed all four buttons, walked both door handles, and handed her a receipt with a real company name, a real license number, and a real phone number. She said that last part wasn't small. After the last guy, it wasn't.
Dealer had quoted her a number over the phone that made the spare feel like a luxury. She paid a fraction of that, on site, in the time it takes to get through a drive-through pharmacy line.
