A mechanic shop off a side street in Goleta called me in to finish a job another locksmith had started and walked away from.
The customer had a 2012 Ford Taurus and needed a replacement smart key. The first tech got partway through programming, the car battery dropped voltage mid-sequence, and the body control module landed in a fault state.
