A real estate agent called me on a Tuesday morning from a parking lot off J Street in Port Hueneme. She had a showing in under an hour, her GX wouldn't respond to the fob, and the push-button start was giving her nothing. She said she'd already tried clicking it twenty times. That part I believe.

Then I connected through the OBD port and checked whether the fob was registering cleanly in the system. It was, once the contact issue was resolved. No new key needed.
She made her showing. On the way out she mentioned the dealer had quoted her a full fob replacement plus programming time, which would have meant a tow and a blown morning. She didn't need any of that. She needed someone with the right tools who showed up before 9am.
