1995 Nissan Pathfinder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a guy in the Madera neighborhood of Simi Valley.

He had been living with a broken key situation for two weeks because the first locksmith he called told him the ignition cylinder on his 1995 Nissan Pathfinder was done and needed to be drilled out and replaced. He had been borrowing his wife's car and putting off what he thought was going to be a big bill.

I drove out to him. The broken blade fragment was still sitting inside the ignition. That happens more than people think on these older trucks. Years of wear, a little metal fatigue, and the key lets go right at the shoulder.

I extracted the fragment without touching the wafer surfaces. Once it was out, I decoded the lock by reading each wafer position directly. Cut a new key from the decode, tested it in the ignition, tested it in the door. Everything worked exactly the way it did before the break.

His original cylinder was fine the whole time. The lock decoded clean. The new key turned as smooth as you want. He told me the other guy had quoted him a number that made him feel sick to his stomach. What he actually paid was a fraction of that, and his truck looked exactly the same as when I pulled up.

Lock decoding on an older Nissan like this is one of those jobs that sounds complicated until you see it done. Then it just looks like someone knowing what they are doing.
