Registered it to his BCM. Walked every button: lock, unlock, remote start, panic, hatch release. Tested the push-button ignition twice. His Pathfinder started in the same dirt spot where it had been sitting for two hours.
He kept looking at the new key like it was going to disappear too. I told him to zip-tie a carabiner to his belt loop next time he walks a field. He laughed, but I meant it.
The whole thing took about 35 minutes. A dealer would have needed a flatbed first, then a parts order, then a scheduled appointment days out, all for a fraction of what they would have wanted.
