Out in Hollywood by the Sea, I got a call from a guy who had been fighting his 2010 Pathfinder for about two weeks. Not a dead key, not a lost key -- a worn ignition. The key would go in, turn partway, then catch. He'd been doing the wiggle-and-push routine every morning like it was a ritual.

The ignition turned clean. No more jiggling. He saved a good chunk over the dealer quote, and he didn't replace a cylinder that had another decade of life left in it.
