2005 Subaru Impreza Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Corriganville, the calls I remember most are the ones where the customer already had a bad experience somewhere else.
A case worker came to me needing a spare key for her 2005 Subaru Impreza. Before she called, she looked up my license number with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. She told me straight out that her previous locksmith had no license, no business name on the receipt, and a disconnected phone number within a week of the job. She wasn't doing that again.
I came to her in the parking area, brought the car to a good light angle, and got to work. The job on this generation Impreza is clean when you know the platform. Cut the blade to her vehicle, get the transponder recognized by the immobilizer, verify the car starts on the new key. No shortcuts, no workarounds that throw fault flags.
She watched the whole thing, which I prefer. When the car started clean on the new key, she asked me to show her the BSIS lookup one more time on my phone so she could save the screenshot.
The dealer had quoted her a wait of several days and a price that made her pause. She paid a fraction of that, on site, same afternoon. She said she was sending the number to a coworker with the same car.
That is the whole story. Good key, right tools, licensed tech, done.
