The immobilizer module, part of the 88835-FJ series on the body control side, needs the old key data cleared before it will accept new fob registration. I used my ACDP to pull a backup of the IMMO data first, standard safety step, then ran the AKL procedure through the OBD port. Programmed his new HYQ14ACX proximity fob, all four buttons, tested the passive entry on both front doors and the trunk, and confirmed push-to-start ignition.
He sat in the driver's seat and just held the brake for a second before pressing the button. Like he expected it not to work.
It started. He looked at me, looked at the dash, nodded once. That was it. No speech. Just relief.
