2020 Subaru Impreza Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy near Carpinteria State Beach called me on a weekday morning. He had a 2020 Subaru Impreza and one key. The fob casing had cracked at the base where the blade pivots out, and he'd been babying it for weeks, pressing the plastic together every time he pulled the blade. He knew it was about to give out completely.
He'd already called the dealer. They told him to come in, said the part would need to be ordered by VIN, and gave him a timeline that involved waiting several days before they could even schedule the programming appointment. He lives near the beach and does not own a second car. The whole thing felt like a project he didn't sign up for.
I drove out and parked next to him in his lot, maybe a hundred yards from the water. The fob casing was splitting but the blade was still intact, which meant I could decode the existing cut and replicate it without needing a locksmith to pick the door. Cut the new blade, transferred the programming to the new fob through the OBD port, verified all four buttons, confirmed push-button start, and walked every door handle.
Forty minutes, one visit. He paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted and never had to arrange a tow or clear his schedule around a service window.
The cracked fob stayed with him as a backup in case he ever needed the blade in a pinch. I told him to get a small case for it. They're cheap and a cracked fob rattling around in a cupholder is how people end up needing an all-keys-lost job.

“I had two fob keys made for my Subaru. Marco provided excellent service and persevered through three parts orders to get the keys I needed. He is very thorough in making sure everything is working properly. Communication and punctuality are also to be commended.”
“Great service, decent price, even helped with some other issues I had which made it worth it (no one wants to fork over $ for locking their keys in the car). Will definitely call them again if need be.”
“Great choice for car key duplication. And car key programming in Oxnard locksmith. Thanks Marco for the great service”
