2005 Toyota Sienna Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a parent near Rincon Beach Park in Ventura. She was at her kid's event and her 2005 Sienna key just snapped. The plastic bow broke clean off at the head, and the transponder chip was still in the broken piece. The metal blade turned the ignition fine, but without the chip close enough to the antenna coil around the lock cylinder, the immobilizer killed fuel injection every time.
She had already called the dealer. Days out for an appointment. Then a tow on top of it.
I keep TOY43 blanks with 4D67 chips in stock. Drove out, cut the blade on my HPC 1200 to match her broken original, then connected my programmer to the OBD-II port. The 2005 Sienna uses the 93C56 EEPROM on the immobilizer ECU, and with one working key present (even broken), the add-key registration is quick. Wrote the new transponder ID, cycled the ignition, and the engine turned over clean. No security light blinking.
She held both keys up side by side and just said, "That's it?"
That's it. Twenty-something minutes, done in the parking lot, no tow truck, no missed afternoon. The broken key went in her glovebox as a backup blade, and she drove home on the new one.
