2006 Chevrolet Tahoe Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Saturday night call from a couple down near Santa Barbara Harbor. They'd been at the bowling alley and came out to a 2006 Tahoe that wouldn't respond to either remote. Doors dead. Panic button dead. They figured the truck was staying in that lot until Monday when the dealer opened.

Their remotes were the LHJ011 three-button units, GM part number 15132197 on one and 15186201 on the other. Popped both open on the tailgate. First one had a CR2032 that was visibly corroded around the edge. Second one had a battery that still showed some voltage but was reading low. Swapped both with fresh CR2032 cells from the drawer in my van.
Then the part people forget: the fobs still need to pair back to the receiver. I ran the relearn through my VVDI Key Tool, synced both remotes to the truck, and tested every button from 30 feet away. Lock, unlock, panic. Both fobs, clean response each time.
The wife said she'd already been mentally planning how to get two people home with no ride on a Saturday night. They drove home that evening instead.
When parts are stocked and the van is ready, a weekend call at 9pm plays out the same as a Tuesday morning appointment. The truck doesn't care what day it is.
