A woman selling vintage furniture near Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai called me on her lunch break. She had a 1995 Honda Odyssey and no spare key. She said the dealer told her it would need to be towed in, and the appointment was over a week out.

I checked the door lock cylinder and decoded the key cuts on site. Honda used a straightforward pin tumbler setup on these, and the HD103 keyway has not changed much across that era.
I cut a fresh key on my mobile machine, tried it in the ignition, and started the car. Then I tested the doors and the hatch. She watched the whole thing from about four feet away, holding a sandwich.
There was no chip to program, no immobilizer handshake, no OBD port work. The 1995 Odyssey predates all of that. Honda did not roll out immobilizer systems until later in the decade. This was a mechanical key, cut to code, done in about fifteen minutes.
She had been waiting over a week because someone made a simple job sound complicated. The car did not need a dealer bay. It needed a locksmith with the right blank and a code machine.
