Over in the Poinsettia neighborhood in Ventura, an ER doctor called me from the fourth floor of a hospital parking structure. He had just come off a 14-hour shift and his 2000 Odyssey would not start. The green key light on the dash was flashing every time he turned the ignition. Classic immobilizer rejection.
He had one key, the original. The plastic housing was cracked open and the transponder chip inside had shifted loose from years of keychain abuse. The chip was physically there, just not sitting where the antenna ring around the ignition cylinder could read it.
I parked next to his van in the structure. Used my VVDI2 to read the existing T5 chip data and clone it onto a fresh transponder, then cut a new HD106-PT blade by decoding his door lock on the spot. Whole job, right there on the fourth floor of a parking garage under fluorescent lights.
He leaned against the concrete pillar the entire time, half asleep, watching me work. When the Odyssey fired up clean on the first turn, he just nodded slowly. No celebration. The man just wanted to go home and sleep.
The dealer had told him two days out, minimum. He would have had to get the van towed there anyway since it would not start. I walked in with a bag, walked out 40 minutes later, and he drove home.
