A food truck operator near River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard called me early one morning. His key had snapped clean in the ignition of his 2011 Honda Odyssey. Half the blade was jammed inside the cylinder. The other half was sitting in his palm. He was afraid to force anything.

From there I decoded the lock off the cylinder readings and cut a fresh HO03 blade. His Odyssey uses the five-button remote head key with an ID46 chip inside, so I needed to program the Hitag2 transponder through the OBD port. One registration cycle on the immobilizer and the engine turned over on the first try.
Then the part that actually matters: I tested every button on the N5F-A04TAA remote. Lock, unlock, hatch, both sliding doors. Everything responded. He watched the side doors glide open and just kind of exhaled.
Under an hour from the phone call to him pulling out of that lot. A dealer would have meant a tow plus days in the queue. A snapped key in a parking lot feels like a disaster. On these older Hondas, it is one of the fastest jobs I run.
