2012 Honda Odyssey Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Near Oxnard Beach Park, a muffler shop called me about a 2012 Odyssey that another locksmith had walked away from. The owner needed all new keys, and during the first guy's attempt the car battery sagged mid-programming and the immobilizer module faulted out. Classic voltage drop during the security handshake. The IMMO threw DTC B1600 and locked itself into a state where it wouldn't accept new key registration.
The other tech packed up. Told them to flatbed it to the dealer.
I showed up with my IM608 and my jump pack. First thing I did was clamp the jump pack onto the battery posts to hold steady voltage. Cleared the B1600 and the related communication fault codes, waited for the module to cycle, and started a clean all-keys-lost procedure through OBD. The 2012 Odyssey uses the G-chip (HITAG2) immobilizer on the 38107-TK8-A01 IMMO unit, and once the fault state cleared, the module accepted the new N5F-A04TAA fob on the first learn attempt.
Cut the HO03 blade, tested all five buttons including both sliding door controls, cycled the ignition three times, locked and unlocked from outside.
The whole thing took about ninety minutes, which is longer than a normal key job. But his alternative was a tow, a multi-day wait at the dealer, and a bill way higher than mine. I showed the shop guys what went wrong with the voltage so they'd know to flag it if a customer ever asked about key work mid-repair.
Job done, same day, in their parking lot.
