Got a call from a guy out at Lake Casitas Recreation Area in Ojai. He'd driven his 1996 Honda Odyssey out there for an early morning on the water and came back to find the remote completely dead. No lock, no unlock, no trunk release. Nothing.

Both of his existing keys were still recognized.
He stood there watching the doors lock and unlock like he didn't trust it yet. Then he just loaded up his gear and drove home. Whole thing was done before noon, for a fraction of what the dealer plus tow route would have cost him.
