A woman selling vintage furniture at a flea market near Ventura Keys area flagged me down during her lunch break. Her 2002 Odyssey needed a new key, and she was convinced only the Honda dealer could do it. The 2002 Odyssey uses the HD106-PT blank with a T5 transponder chip inside. I used my VVDI Key Tool to clone the chip profile matched to her immobilizer module, cut the blade on my mobile machine, and slid the new key into the ignition. Cranked right up. No drama.
She watched the whole thing from a folding chair while she ate a sandwich. Took maybe 25 minutes.
She mentioned the dealer quoted her an appointment the following week and a price that made her wince. I finished before she was done with lunch, right there in the same parking spot, and saved her a good chunk on top of it.
The van's immobilizer doesn't know if the key came from a service bay or a flea market lot. The handshake between chip and coil is identical either way.
