Got a call from a mom in the Pleasant Valley area of Oxnard. She was in the elementary school parking lot, kid in the back seat, and her only transponder key for the 2004 Altima had snapped right at the blade shoulder. The plastic head with the chip was in her hand, the metal half was jammed in the ignition cylinder.

Then I pulled the 4-digit PIN off the NATS5 immobilizer label behind the lower dash panel, ran the seed calculation on my programmer, and cut a fresh NSN14 blank with the ID46 chip.
Whole job, arrival to her turning the key and hearing the engine catch, maybe 35 minutes. She just sat there for a second with her hands on the wheel like she was making sure it was real.
She drove out of that school lot with time to spare. No tow truck, no two-day wait, no dealer service lane.
