2014 Nissan Altima Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A web developer working from home in Centennial Plaza, Oxnard, called me because his 2014 Altima was stuck on a steep one-lane cul-de-sac and no tow truck would attempt the grade. The dealer told him to figure out how to get the car to them first. He couldn't, because he had no working key.
I parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up with my VVDI2 programmer, an NSN14 high-security blank, and a fresh Intelligent Key housing with the 5-button layout. His car sat nose-in against a retaining wall with maybe two feet of clearance on the driver side.
I read the BCM pin through the OBD port, pulled the NATS 5 immobilizer data, and registered a new fob to his system. Then I cut the emergency laser insert to match his door cylinder, built the complete Intelligent Key, and tested every function: push-button start, door handle proximity unlock, trunk release, both panic and remote start buttons.
His car never moved an inch. The whole job took about 40 minutes, most of that spent on the BCM handshake and the timed registration countdown the NATS system forces you through.
The dealer quote assumed the car could magically appear in their service bay. Mine assumed I could walk up a hill with a backpack. Worked out a lot cheaper for him too.
