Cut the emergency insert blade on the NSN14 keyway, programmed the remote functions, then did the boring part: tested every button, checked both front door handle sensors, verified push-button start from the driver seat and the passenger seat where range can get weak on these. The whole thing, parking to handing her a tested spare, was 17 minutes.
She tucked the new key in her gym bag and jogged back inside. No appointment at the dealer, no leaving the car for half a day, no shuttle ride home. Just a spare key made in a parking lot during a break she already had.
