I got a call from a tax accountant working out of an office lot in RiverPark, Oxnard. It was a Wednesday in the middle of tax season. She had clients booked back to back through the evening and her 2006 Nissan Altima was just sitting there, remote head key not responding to anything. Doors, lock, unlock, nothing. I connected at the OBD port, ran the key registration, confirmed the transponder was recognized and all four buttons came back. Locked and unlocked from a normal distance. Checked the blade in the ignition. Everything worked.

She walked out after her one o'clock and drove home that evening. The dealer option would have been scheduling days out, a tow she'd have to arrange, and paying a lot more when all was said and done. This was done in the lot where the car sat, in about forty minutes.
