Out at Rincon Point in Carpinteria, a guy called me just after 6:45 in the morning. He had a 2012 Ford Edge and a job site he needed to be at by 7. The push-button start was not responding and he was standing in the parking lot clicking the fob like that was going to change something.

He clocked in just a few minutes late and texted me that afternoon. The dealer had quoted him a wait of a day or two and a bill that was a fraction of what I charged, in the wrong direction. He was glad he called instead.
